Government Confirms Return To Campus

Students on courses not impacted by the bad weather should return This is primarily planned to allow time for clearing the backlog created during the closure period. Students who have been unable to complete their coursework or other assessed elements due to the bad weather since the start of the academic year, will be given more time. In exceptional circumstances where coursework has been unavoidably affected, it will be possible for extensions to be approved on an individual basis.

After an exceptional response to the offer for students to return on week commencing Monday 1 March, the University can confirm that following a review of the situation it has been able to schedule sufficient staff and resources to ensure that, with a few exceptions, all courses can resume. This includes those taught or provided from Northumbria in Newcastle and Sunderland, where most assessments have been orchestrated online. On the recommendation of the University Court's External Affairs and Additional Resources Committee, the University Court has confirmed that staff, students and contractors will be able to return to campus from 8 March.

Students on practical courses and those requiring specialist equipment have been advised that they will be able to return for on-campus teaching from Monday 8 March. Bus Supporting The National Vaccination Effort Stops At The Universitys Greenwich Campus.

This month a national vaccination bus tour has been to two south London areas where level of uptake is lower than in the rest of the UK. Places visited included Croydon, Lewisham and Greenwich. The NHS South East London Community Commissioning Group bus ran vaccine clinics at Charlton Lido and Charlton Memorial Park, and also supported local pharmacists in giving out information and vaccinations at Woolwich Central Pharmacy and Woolwich MEAT. Others who went on the tour were given vaccination information at Aragon Tower, Greenwich, Walworth Road Library, New Cross Learning Centre, New Cross Library, Deptford library and Woolwich Docklands Light Railway station.

Students were among local people receiving the seasonal flu jab on Friday 2 October at the University at their Greenwich campus.   The bus, run by NHS South East London Community Commissioning Group, in partnership with the Royal Borough of Greenwich and supported by Charlton Athletic Community Trust, administered vaccines to local people on its first outing. A fleet of buses will visit 20 key sites across the capital from September 1 to October 31.

The satellite training on Tuesday is part of a series of events run by the Royal Borough of Greenwich and SE London Community Commissioning Group (CCG), as part of the national vaccination campaign for Flu, Pneumococcal and Hepatitis B. A bright yellow ‘Vaccinations Bus’ supporting the national vaccination effort at the Royal Free Hospital, turned up in Greenwich last week. The bus visited local hospitals and was parked at the University of Greenwich, where it took advantage of a ‘drop in’ offer to those on campus.

NHS South East London Community Commissioning Group has launched a vaccination bus which will promote the importance of physical activity and immunisation. Specialists from University of Greenwich’s Faculty of Health Sciences are taking part in the initiative on Tuesday, October 18. On the morning of Wednesday 27th January, a red double decker bus parked on the University of Greenwich’s Greenwich campus. For half an hour, people on their way to work queued to catch a glimpse of the bus and more importantly, to be signed up to the NHS vaccination program.

University of Greenwich announces brand-new course in Climate Change. The first and only one of its kind in the south-east of England, the programme will be delivered by the Natural Resources Institute (NRI). Available to study now on an exciting new part-time basis, it will offer a unique opportunity for professionals from across southern England to gain an advanced level qualification in climate change science. The University of Greenwich (UG) has announced the launch of a new programme in Climate Change Studies.

The first and only one of its kind in the south-east of England, the programme will be delivered by the Natural Resources Institute (NRI). This unique postgraduate course covers ground from climate change research to policy and societal issues, including climate resilience, risk management and adaptation. The University of Greenwich is bringing to south-east London a new, ground-breaking course as part of its School of Environment, Education and Development (SEED). The programme will be delivered by the Natural Resources Institute (NRI), which forms one of three university faculties alongside the SEED and Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.
